Location Highlights

Delightful Downtown

Just five minutes from your MacAlpine Place home, Dunedin’s walkable downtown area charms residents and in-the-know visitors alike. Stroll down Main Street, which begins at the marina, and enjoy art galleries and unique shops. Dining options include casual bistros, a variety of ethnic food—including, naturally, Scottish options—and local breweries. Don’t miss the Green Market, every Friday from October to April, for a chance to stock your kitchen with artisan foods and the freshest produce.

Island Magic: Honeymoon and Caladesi

In an area renowned for gorgeous beaches, the two islands near Dunedin are two of the most breathtaking. Just over Dunedin Causeway, Honeymoon Island is famous for its seashells. Nature trails and picnic areas allow you to take in the stunning scenery, including plenty of native birds. From Honeymoon, hop on a boat to Caladesi Island, consistently ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches in the US. Swim and snorkel in the azure Gulf waters at either location.

The Art Scene

In addition to art and gift galleries downtown, Dunedin features both a Historical Museum and a Fine Art Center. The first features an extensive collection of photos and artifacts documenting Florida history. At the second, you’ll find art exhibits, classes for all ages, and workshops. In January, the Downtown Dunedin Art Festival takes over Main Street, showcasing a broad spectrum of mediums including sculpture, photography, jewelry, mixed media and more.

Keeping It Green: Dunedin’s Parks

Green, natural space is important in Dunedin, and here you’ll find many parks. For excellent wildlife viewing, there’s Hammock Park, with an observation deck where you can eavesdrop on local birds and animals. Weaver Park features a special area for children, and is also superb for sunset viewing. There are many other options, each with its own distinctive character.

Water or Land?

The marina in Downtown Dunedin is a treat for all residents. Consider chartering a boat for a big celebration or a quiet evening. Prefer to stay on land? Edgewater Park is a popular spot along the marina, with a playground, gazebo, and picnic tables. It is a great place to listen to concerts!
