Where the Pinnacle of Success and Luxury Intersect

For the financially savvy, this is hallowed ground. The Financial District, located near the southeastern tip of Manhattan, is headquarters for many of the City's major financial institutions. As financially focused as this area is, though, it also affords its diverse residents direct access to myriad sights and activities. A five-minute walk takes you to South Street Seaport. And with the East River literally one block away, it's easy to jump on a ferry for IKEA at Pier 11, or amble down to Battery Park to, seriously, go fly a kite (it'll do you good). Check out the nearby Queen Elizabeth II Garden or pedal a Citi Bike a few blocks up uptown for getaway lunch.

Location Highlights

Get out. Get going.

The Financial District is surrounded by unique, fascinating places and spaces to decompress after a hectic day. Here are just two. Take a short escalator up to the Elevated Acre—a one-acre, landscaped grass lawn park that’s perfect for that disappearing act you’ve been mulling over. On a much larger scale, Battery Park at the very tip of the island offers wide, open space and spectacular views all around.

Have feet. Can travel.

Cars are sometimes overrated. Especially on the island of Manhattan, and particularly here in the Financial District. Bikes, ferries, the Subway—you can get there from here. Efficiently and on time. Hop a ferry at Pier 11. Pick up the 2, 3, 4 and 5 lines at the Wall Street Station, or the J and Z lines over on Broad Street. Need a cab? Scratch your head. Done. No city is easier to get around in. And we all know getting there is oftentimes half the fun.

The Feast Goes On

It goes without saying that the turf that gave rise to the “power lunch” is going to win high marks for culinary excitement and excellence. The famed original Delmonico’s set the bar a long time ago and the pace since then has been breathtaking. Haru Sushi, Harry’s Italian—the cuisines represented speak to just about any taste imaginable. And if you prefer to do the cooking, Gristedes grocery is nearby and a quick cab fare will take you to Whole Foods in Tribeca.

Fido in FiDi

The FiDi area is one of the more walkable areas of New York City, with pedestrian-friendly streets and trails. Walk your furry friend in one of the many parks, or schedule a play date at a nearby dog park.

The Good Life for Little Ones

As if parks and trails aren't enough, the FiDi area has some amazing playgrounds for your little tikes, including the fabled Imagination Playground, designed by noted architect David Rockwell.
